Our Founder - Jim Chillemi

Shihan Jim Chillemi is a 6th degree black belt and has been teaching martial arts to men, women and children for over 40 years. 

Shihan Chillemi has also competed nationally and internationally, representing America, and was captain of the US team at the European World Championships in Birmingham, England in 1988. There he won the silver medal in the light heavyweight division. He also had the honor of competing on the US teams in Toronto & Montreal, Canada under the leadership of Hall of Fame Blackbelt Chuck Merriman. Shihan Chillemi has had the privilege of training with several of the greatest martial artist of our time including Master Peter Urban whom he received his 1st through 6th Degree Blackbelt.

Shihan has trained in karate with Sigero Ohama, Fumio Demura and Joe Lewis. He has also trained in Ju-Jitsu with Little John Davis and world champion Frank Shamrock. In 2001 Shihan Chillemi was inducted into the Eastern USA International Martial Arts Tactical Hall of Frame. Shihan has also been recognized by the New York State Senate for his outstanding work with children.
